What do you think about asterix data model? partiql and adm look similar to me except that partiql extends json to ion type system
AsterixDB is a full DBMS–an implementation of SQL++ as well as a storage engine.
PartiQL is also an implementation of SQL++ but it includes no storage engine. This makes it easy to connect to existing storage engines–particularly document-based, semi-structured storage engines.
Regarding the AsterixDB data model: it and Ion seem to have a lot in common, but it is not my area of expertise.
Ion has applicability outside of PartiQL as well. As a superset of JSON with a binary representation it can store data more efficiently (in terms of space and read performance) than JSON and with less potential data loss than JSON (due to its richer type system).
